    • Fantastic Weekend at the Beach for a wedding.

Reviewed by Teresa A. on May 20, 2015 for their trip during May 2015

I traveled to Jax Beach for a wedding with a group of 12 people (many I had never met before). We rented both the upstairs and downstairs of one of the cottages. We loved how close we were to the beach and the downtown Jax Beach area. After the first night, we were all talking about how soft the sheets on the beds are. I went to the breezy cafe around the corner everyday. The House ice coffee is a must. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable place near the beach. You could get by without a car, but I would recommend having one.

The first thing that grabbed my attention was it truly felt like I was at my very own beach home with the decor. I felt right at home with all of the conveniences like my own home. I walked daily to either the cool breezy cafe or Starbucks. Then trailed the one block to the beach. My two dogs had the yard to play in or walk the beaches. I can't wait to go back again.

The owners were easy to communicate and were quick to answer any questions. Would definitely rent from them again!

We went to this listing for a ladies' weekend and were not disappointed. I am one of those people who likes a clean place to rest my head and the rental definitely met expectations. The othwr guests were very impressed too. About five minutes from the beach too. The owner was very accommodating (we had 6 people and needed a roll away bed) and responded to my questions promptly.

We had a wonderful weekend at Jax Beach! This place is simple, cute and cozy, yet there was more than enough space for 3 adults to relax together or in our own space. We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach and entertainment, and made use of the screened in patio out back. Great value, I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended this spot to a friend.

We (me, my husband, and our dog) stayed here for a long weekend in October. The location is great as you can walk to the beach and to some restaurants / coffee shops too. The property was well-maintained and well-decorated. Wifi internet access worked well for us as did all the other amenities. The owner was accessible, professional, and friendly. I would definitely recommend this property to someone looking to stay near the beach. There was some construction at the house next door but we honestly never heard it or were bothered by it. You do get a bit of noise if there is someone staying upstairs. As for restaurants, Samurai has excellent sushi and is within walking distance. Taco Lu is our favorite Mexican restaurant and is a short drive away. Salt Life is good too (and dog friendly). Would be nice to have access to bikes since there is a nice flat bike path along 1st Street.

I took my wife here for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate her upcoming birthday. We walked in and were so happy with the accommodations. The decor was very thoughtful and beachy. Televisions in each room and internet access (though very spotty) as well. The location is a quick walk to beach access. We also walked to Latham Plaza for the Taste of Jax Beaches Friday night, which took about 15 minutes. Excellent on-site parking and outdoor grill. Be sure to bring your own travel soaps and shampoo as they are not provided. The bungalow is set up like a turn-key house in which pretty much everything is there for you which is why we assumed hotel-type soaps would be there as well. The website didn't say otherwise. Other than that there was some construction noise early Saturday morning as the house next door is being renovated. Hopefully that will be complete in the very near future and it will be a non-issue. We will certainly happily return to this rental by the beach! As a bonus we rented fishing gear at the pier and my wife caught a 14" Sheepshead.

This is our second visit to these Beach Bungalows, and both times we have enjoyed staying in the Jacksonville Beach area (In the past known as Ruby Beach and Pablo Beach). We found no reason to leave that Island Area, as locals say “Cross the River” we found all our needs within blocks. The Beach Theme and Decor to our Bungalow made it very inviting yet open enough to make it our very own. We appreciate that the properties are kept neat and clean. Another plus to our stay, is that my Lady and I enjoy cooking and with the amenities already there, we found everything needed already there. I never tired of walking to the beach to drink my morning coffee really enjoyed watching the sun rise and always armed with my camera to capture any inspiring scenery. Fishing off the Pier is hassle free, a $4.00 fee allows you to not need a fishing permit to fish, plus at the gate they have fishing equipment you can rent along with a few snacks, fishing tackle and bait you can buy. We highly recommend anyone wanting to experience the “Salt Life” for the first time or again, to experience it yourself and enjoy it as we did… all within a three block area, you have the Jacksonville Beach, Breezy’s Coffee Shop with amazing Pastries, 3rd Street Diner with a Full 24 hr Bar and Excellent Greek Food, and to venture out a few blocks further or bike along the beach and not want to go thru the hassle of parking a car and if you enjoy the outside, there is a Bike Rental on 10th Street Ave. Will we return? Yes! We are now planning a return visit.

Short drive to Ponte Vedra area. Our dog Piper felt relaxed as well, she was glad to find a pet friendly place to stay and a pet friendly neighborhood. No bells and whistles, just a clean place to rest your head and re-charge. Would not hesitate to recommend.

The beach as stated is 1 1/2 blocks away. You can literally see the crosswalk that leads onto the beach. Its convenient to everything but yet in a quiet area. The owners were very nice and helpful. My sister and I went to the beach for a sisters weekend and just loves this little place. It's airy and beachy perfect! We really enjoyed the book with all the restaurants and local things to do. My pups really had a good time too! The beds and couches were super comfy which sometimes is hard to find in a vacay rental. The only thing we had trouble with was the Netflix on the TV...maybe include instructions in the welcome book. We had a great time and hope to be back again next year!

We enjoyed our stay and will stay again if in the area. Location is great, just a short walk to the beach and a few blocks to all the restaurants, bars and shops in downtown Jacksonville Beach (not to mention coffee and restaurants the other direction too.) We like to be able to walk places and this location definitely made that doable. All in all you will be hard-pressed to find something in this price range that is this nice. Had everything you'd need (personally find it frustrating when staying at vacation rentals and have to do things like pick up salt and pepper at the grocery store - wasn't the case here!) The main living area is nice and roomy and the owners were extremely easy to work with!

    • Great Location!

The house is literally a block from the beach, yet easily accessible from A1A. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The property was very clean and well maintained. I don't think I would recommend more than four people stay. The property manager Erin was great to work with and being able to make payments online made booking this property super easy! I think the only drawback was parking, there were times that we had to park away from the rental as there were other people parked in the spot(s) for the property, if there was parking there was only parking for one of our cars. I would recommend a welcome packet/guestbook at the property with a list of businesses close to the property, as well as checkout procedures. In the past different rentals we have stayed in have different instructions they'd like you to follow, like where to discard garbage. Other than that we may very well be back next year!

Owner Response: Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We just added a guest info book this week. Great idea! Also, for anyone reading this, please just let us know if there are parking issues. We can resolve this issue right away if we know about it at the time. Hope to have you back again sometime!
